Intended Audience
Matchmaker.fm is a platform for adults aged 18 and over. It is designed to help podcast and radio hosts connect with potential guests for interviews. Because users may share lived experiences, some profiles may include discussion of sensitive topics such as mental health, trauma or adult relationships in an educational context.The platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and this is clearly stated in our terms of use.
Protection of Children and Sensitive Content
Some profiles may include references to topics classified as “primary priority content” under the UK Online Safety Act, including self-harm, sexual health, or past trauma. To reduce the risk of this content being accessed by children:
- Profiles tagged as containing sensitive content are hidden from all logged-out users
- These profiles are not indexed on search engines
- Access to these profiles is limited to logged-in users on a paid account
- Users must confirm they are 18+ during sign-up
We do not use formal age verification, but platform access and sensitive content visibility are controlled through sign-up requirements and territory-based restrictions.
Moderation and Content Controls
We use a combination of manual moderation and AI-assisted tagging to flag profiles that reference sensitive or adult themes. These are labelled as 'Sensitive' and hidden from public access.
Users can report content they believe breaches our guidelines, and our team will review and take appropriate action.
Ongoing Compliance
We regularly review our platform against the requirements of the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and update our policies, tagging processes and content visibility rules as needed. We have completed both a Children’s Access Assessment and a full Children’s Risk Assessment.
